The Irish Reveler (AAQI)

Designed and quilted by Marlene Brown Woodfield.

9″ wide by 12″ high. Original design, 2010.

Materials/techniques: Cotton fabrics, ribbons, Mardi gras beads, painted, machine applique’, machine and hand pieced, machine quilted, signed, piped, traditionaly bound.

Artist’s statement: This little “Colleen” is celebrating in good old Irish fashion!

Dedicated: To all those who are Irish or think they are on St. Patrick’s Day!

Raised for AAQI: $75. March 2011 auction.

Note from Sandy Schweitzer, a friend of Kathleen: “I just wanted to let you know that Kathleen Sweeney… at the PAQA meeting brought in an Alzheimer’s quilt you had made (the bear with the beads) and she had purchased. Great was her joy! She told us she thinks the bear looks like you. Further, she said the bear “arrived on St. Patrick’s Day!” Thank you for picking up this cause and making it your own! What fun!”
