Over the years, Marlene was generous in donating her quilts to help causes in the community. Examples of organizations benefitting from her benevolence included: St. Anthony Hospice, Pines Village Retirement Home, StreetWise, the VNA Hospice Regatta, the FUMC Soup Kitchen, the National Quilting Association, the National Quilt Museum, and the Alzheimer’s Art Quilt Initiative.
