Materials/techniques: Cotton fabric, sky is hand painted, fused applique’, Tsukineko ink, Shiva paint sticks create this lighthouse scene. It is machine quilted, signed, piped and traditionally bound.
Artist’s statement: A lighthouse beacon is the guidance for sailors using the waterway. A father provides the guidance for his children.
Dedicated: In memory of Bob Kelly who was both a sailor and a father of 6 boys.
Raised for AAQI: $115. May 2013 auction.
Purchased by Jeff Kelly for his mother, Shirley. It was her Mother’s Day gift.
