Materials/techniques: Commercial cotton fabric was fussy cut to resemble a tree. Pale blue nylon tulle overlay was spattered with Seta color pearl opaque paint to resemble snow and make the quilt more three dimensional, Fabrico pens, Sulky thread machine quilted, signed, piped and traditionally bound.

Artist’s statement: Actually, the working name of this quilt was 97 Degrees and Snowing, but I settled on Driven Snow as the final choice! It WAS 97 degrees outside when I made this hoping to feel cooler! It did not work.

Dedicated: To the weatherman – may he turn down the heat in the summer and turn it up in the winter.
