Letter to Mary and Bob Starnes on September 6, 2007:

“Dear Mary and Bob,

Enclosed is a photo of the quilt I made in honor of your mother, Kay, for the Priority Quilts for Alzheimer’s.

I have sent it in to be included in the 1,000 small priority quilts that they expect to auction at the Houston International Quilt Show at the end of October. Over 50,000 persons attend this event so each quilt hopefully will bring in a generous sum. All of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to research for a cure for this terrible disease.

I used commerical fabric, silk flowers, beads, hand made antique lace doily (made by Ted’s cousin) and it is machine quilted.

I hope you like it.

Love, Marlene”
